Don Cheto at Salinas Airshow
August 21, 2017 — Salinas, California – The California International Airshow is thrilled to announce Don Cheto, one of the country’s leading and most popular radio and TV personalities, will be at the Airshow on Sunday October 1st from 1:00-3:00 PM for a meet and greet and photo op with Airshow attendees!
Don Cheto is the host of a top-rated morning radio show for Latinos living in the U.S., and is also the host of “El Show de Don Cheto”, a Spanish-language variety show broadcast locally on Estrella TV Central Coast. The hour-long Spanish language variety show features a variety of games, a live band and more. Don Cheto also serves as a celebrity judge on the hit variety show “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento” and late-night talk show “Noches con Platanito”, both shown on Estrella TV Central Coast.
“El Show de Don Cheto”, is a popular morning radio show featuring Don Cheto’s humorous anecdotes and jokes, as well as a balanced dose of music and news. Since it first aired, his radio show has ranked #1 in various markets across the U.S. without regard to language, and has consistently featured distinguished guests such as Hillary Clinton, Tim Kaine, Kate Del Castillo, and Vicente Fernandez, to name a few. The radio show airs locally from 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM on La Buena 103.5 FM.
Known as “El Hombre del Vozarrón” (the loud-voiced man), Don Cheto is a fictional Mexican-American radio and television personality widely known throughout Mexican-American pop culture. Contrary to popular belief, Don Cheto is actually portrayed by Juan Razo who is very young compared to the 65-year-old character he portrays.
Don Cheto has also appeared in a number of films, including “The Clapper”, “Americano” and “Girl in Progress”. Don Cheto also makes an appearance in “Grand Theft Auto V”, as himself inside the radio station East Los FM.
Don Cheto’s music albums include Piporreando, and El Hombre del Vozarrón. He released a music video parody of Gangnam Style featuring East LA gangster stereotypes. The video titled “Ganga Style” featured guest cameos by Latin Grammy winner Ana Bárbara and the late Latin Grammy nominee Jenni Rivera; it has reached over 57 million views on YouTube.
The California International Airshow will be held September 30th and October 1st at the Salinas Municipal Airport. The show will also feature the F-22 Raptor, Sean D. Tucker, Greg Colyer in his T-33 Shooting Star, the Royal Canadian Air Force CT-142 Dash 8, Vicky Benzing in her Boeing Stearman, Kent Pietsch in his Jelly Belly bi-plane, Bill Stein in his Edge 540, for the first time in Salinas, the Beast Jet Car, and a wide array of static aircraft on the ramp.
