California International Airshow Salinas donates $2,500 to the Community Foundation for Monterey County’s COVID-19 Relief Fund

March 18th 2020 – The board of directors of the nonprofit 501 (c)3 California International Airshow Salinas voted today to donate $2,500 to the Community Foundation for Monterey County’s COVID-19 Relief Fund. The local non-profit which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, producing one of the finest “non military” airshow in the country, and that has given over $8.0 million to local charities, felt it was fitting to contribute to the COVID-19 Relief Fund to help provide the much needed financial support to those members of our community that are most at risk in Monterey County. “The community has been good to us and we want to be there for the community,” said Karen Curtis, Board President.

With the abundance of uncertainty of the near term impact of COVID-19 on our community, the Board of Directors and management of the Airshow remain guardedly optimistic about the June Airshow. “From what we are hearing at the present time from performers, we are proceeding under the assumption that the show will happen. We are however monitoring the national crisis daily and are in constant communications with ICAS (the International Council of Air Shows). The Airshow has been a tradition of inspiration and dreams for our community for 40 years. We all believe that the show is exactly what our community will need once we get past this current crisis,” said Nicholas Pasculli, Director of Marketing for the California International Airshow, Salinas.

In response to the boards decision to make this donation, Dan Baldwin, President & CEO of the Community Foundation for Monterey County had this to say; “The Community Foundation for Monterey County is very pleased to be receiving generous support from the California International Airshow Salinas for its COVID 19 Relief Fund.  This type of support is a recognition of the Airshow’s commitment to our community’s most vulnerable residents.”

Tickets for the 3-day show, June 5, 6 and 7 remain on sale on https://salinasairshow.com/.
